Softwashing Biogrowth Treatment
The soft wash cleaning method we use for cleaning roofs, uses HSE approved biocide to actively treat the organic micro-organisms growing within the roof tile surface. This layer of biofilm causes the surface of your tile to look grubby or dirty.
Roof moss, lichen & algae
If left, roof moss, algae and lichen can loosen and cause damage to roof tiles, cause severe and regular gutter blockages and ruin the look of your property.
Removal of moss can prevent these issues but clearing it away alone can actually spread the moss spores across the roof, resulting in it growing back quickly over a larger area. It is recommended therefore, that the roof is also treated with a biocide to kill the spores & roots of moss, algae and mould.
Our Method:
Roof Moss Removal
Steaming/Scraping
First we clear the surface of the roof of any biogrowth. Depending on the property, this may be by scraping or by low pressure steam cleaning
Gutter Clearance & Detachment
After the biogrowth has been removed, we will clear the guttering then detach the downpipes and fit temporary sleeves to collect any treatment run off
Roof Tile Biogrowth Treatment
Finally we will work in a HSE approved bio treatment which will target the remaining biogrowth spores within the tile's surface
